Parnassos is the cultural centre of the Utrecht university where you can learn to play instruments, theatre, dance and yoga. In December 2009 they celebrated their 15 year anniversary and organised several evenings to celebrate where the audience was divided in six groups and was guided through the whole building while enjoying different performances. For the division of the audience in six groups I created an interactive installation where the audience was sorted in groups based on the answers they gave on several multiple choice questions. I made six decision trees where each tree had an display and three buttons to answer the questions. People would give their name to the assistant next to the tree and that would start the questions. After they where sorted into groups they would get a card and a special prop identifying their group.
I also created a projection in which people could see a visualization of the whole sorting process. As the last part of the project I made a visualization in the bar where people would arrive after the performances and could see everybody that was present that evening as a moving avatar with their choices and group displayed.
